Sensory Bags

Diana Mendoza

Today, our tamariki made their own sensory bags. We used lunch bags, pom-poms, glitter, paint, water and glue. Our Hi 5 tamariki helped our younger tamariki with all those tricky parts.

Through the interactions with one another, they looked after one another, had shown, taught and learned from one another, they learned vital social skills, such as taking turns, saying please and thank you, and asking for help.

This activity encouraged team work and autonomy, and showed that being a part of a learning community, allows everyone to thrive.
