Continuing our partnership and relationship with the Teen parent school. We the whanau at kids count Tawa have been given the opportunity to hold educational class sessions for the mums. These sessions are opportunities for us as early childhood educators to best educate and support our mums with day to day life skills, especially around giving guidance for supporting their children.
Today for our session we did scrap booking, where the mums got to do 'who am I' forms. This was a great opportunity for us to really get to know the social cultural perspective of the children their parents and their families.
The mums enjoyed the session as this opened up great conversations around their children's development, as well as the importance of partnership and relationship between the Teen mums and us the centre. Feedback from the mums is that they are wanting to have more sessions and are putting forward requests as to what areas they need support with. i.e temper tantrums, easy home activities, and many more.
Overall an awesome experience for all involved.
