Kids Count Lenore Road has had a busy month with two language weeks filled with beautiful rich culture! We started with Fijian Language Week where all the stops were pulled out! There were beautiful traditional Fijian masi and war clubs placed all around the centre, allowing the children to explore and discover the culture during this time. The centre was filled with blue, white and red and the atmosphere created for the children was next level! Building up to the celebration we were all practicing our songs and meke to show off to everyone! The children dressed up and they had extra confidence after doing it so many times now they were aware of what was going to happen so they strut their stuff! We have also just had Niue Language Week and it was spectacular! The kai room was decorated with beautiful traditional colours which made the children feel so calm and our teachers Whaea Rita and Whaea Eurydice led the celebration perfectly! Both celebrations were followed with AMAZING food and the children and teachers were so grateful! The language weeks have helped the children grow in confidence and learning amongst their peers!
