Kapa haka is an important part of our cultural aspect in "Tikanga Maori" and whom we are at Marne Rd. We like to learn about all the different culture of all our staff and tamariki that have been given into our care during the duration of their stay with us.
Our focus is Whanau, hapu and iwi of all nations. As we incorporate KC philosophy and values within our teaching and care we help to strengthen our Whanau through our tamariki.
In the Rising Stars room our tamariki love being involved in our Kapa Haka sessions. They are learning many important aspects while participating in this cultural art form.
It is a unique part of our identity as New Zealanders and helps facilitate meaningful connections with other cultures. Here at Kids Count the very strong belief that kapa haka contributes to social skills, positive health and wellbeing, involvement, inclusion as well as cultural identity.
