As part of our transition to school program this year we are taking all our 4-year-old children to the Clendon Recreation Centre on a Tuesday for gymnastic lessons.
The children have been really enjoying taking part, and are all every excited and enthusiastic for Tuesdays to roll around each week.
Through the program the children are developing physical skills that are an essential part of their growth and development as they prepare for primary school. They are building on their coordination, balance, upper body strength, core strength, cardiovascular fitness and ball skills.
We have had many children take part in these lessons over the years, and we have seen such a huge growth in not only their physical skills but their confidence and ability to cope in new situations. We are all excited to see the progress the next group of 4 year olds make.
