Future Ferns Juniors - March 2017

Our focus within our room is transport. Children have been having fun exploring different forms of transport and have had some really cool activities. This week we also were participating in the International Water Day. This was about how we can proactively conserve water by doing different things. This has also been relevant with the water shortage we are currently experiencing within New Zealand.

With our children we decided to combine all these ideas and decided to set up a dry car wash using crape paper and the ride on cars and scooters. Children drove their cars through the car wash pretending to make it sparkly and clean. We also got the children to wash their hands in a bucket after painting and reused the water for their water play. Children are then becoming aware of the issues around the world, in New Zealand and their community, making their carbon footprint noticed.
